The Chat Hideout has a new home.

The end of The Chat Hideout was planned a long time ago, when it was realized that, essentially, the forums were a complete failure. Traffic was marginal, ad revenue wasn't going to cover even half of the expenses incurred by the website, and activity was very slowly dropping off. u235 and I had decided to let our vBulletin license expire, and shut down afterward.

However, recent events brought us to realize that we didn't really feel like spending the time anymore. There was too much all-around bitching and people being complete assholes, and we were getting sick of hosting a community that, thanks to a few inconsiderate pricks, was rather unfriendly to newcomers.

Yes, I did invite some others to come in and have a little fun. Notice that they were benign at first and were immedately snubbed in their first thread. This was predicted in advance. Go figure.

To those who enjoyed the forums without being jackasses, I apologize. In the end, it just didn't work out.
